AITP Thailand
Association of Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer Professionals
The Association of Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer Professionals (AITP) is a professional body in Thailand dedicated to advancing the field of IP management and technology transfer. AITP aims to enhance professional standards, bridge IP and technology demand and supply, support policy development, and strengthen Thailand’s innovation ecosystem. It serves as a hub for developing qualified professionals, delivering certified training programmes, promoting awareness of IP and technology transfer, and facilitating collaborations between academia, government, and industry—both domestically and internationally. AITP also aspires to align Thailand’s practices with global standards through competency certification and capacity building.

AITP Story
AITP was officially established in 2025 as a national initiative to consolidate and professionalise the role of IP and technology transfer managers in Thailand. The founding committee consisted of representatives from leading universities (e.g., Mahidol, Chulalongkorn, Chiang Mai), national research institutions (e.g., NSTDA, PMU), and other stakeholders in the Thai innovation ecosystem. The association's development was guided by a three-year strategic roadmap: Year 1 focused on legal establishment and operational setup; Year 2 emphasised expansion of training, certification centres, and membership; and Year 3 aims to foster global partnerships and elevate Thailand’s IP and TT standards to international recognition. The association has since developed tiered professional standards and certification systems aligned with the Thailand Professional Qualification Institute.
